Kirk Caudle, known for his Mormon Book Review podcast (which was, at one time, officially affiliated with BYU’s Maxwell Institute), made headlines over the summer when he resigned from the church after working as an online religion instructor for BYU-Idaho. However, he still attends church regularly and maintains strong ties to Mormonism, making him a natural guest for A Thoughtful Faith.

In this two-part episode, we talk to Kirk about his life growing up in Mormonism, his background and education in religious studies, his experience working for BYU-Idaho and his resignation from that position and the church, as well as his experience working with BYU’s Maxwell Institute and his outlook on a number of different Mormon topics.
