Speaker # 2:  Emily Thorne

Emily was born to a recently divorced mother and grew up in a fairly dysfunctional environment, but attended the LDS church consistently.  She bucked the stereotype of engaging in the dysfunctional cycle by marrying her best friend, earning her General Studies degree from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, and became a lifelong explorer of places, ideas, and people.  She loves snorkeling, crocheting, and getting lost in Jane Austen novels.  Her faith in Heavenly Parents has not changed since she was a child.  She currently lives in Florida with her husband of ten years.  Her talk was delivered in the Boca Raton Ward on June 29, 2014.
